The Funding and Development Programme aims to address division and conflict in our society.

 

Programme staff work to assist voluntary and community based groups in the development and implementation of their community relations work.  The grant aiding aspect of the Programme works with the following groups:

  • Newly emerging groups developing their capacity for undertaking community relations work
  • Working with established groups addressing issues associated with conflict prevention and the resolution of conflict, development of new networks, supporting projects that explore our identity and culture, promoting inclusive discussion and debate, building relationships of trust and understanding and developing capacity for cooperation.

CR/CD Grants Scheme

The CR/CD scheme is aimed at increasing opportunities for people from differing traditions to develop relationships of trust and understanding and the confidence to address issues of difference between them.  Grants of up to £10,000 are available per application to this scheme and approximately 180 grants are awarded each financial year. Most grant applications awards would fall between £2- £5k.

 

Pathfinder Scheme offers project support which has a number of specific aims, these are;

The scheme is primarily aimed at locally based groups such as community development groups, cultural organisations, women's groups, church groups, tenants associations and other organisations and groups involved in community relations, reconciliation projects and cultural engagement.

  1. To be a mechanism which can respond to need and address urgent community relations issues;

     

  2. The scheme is aimed primarily at projects that are seeking to address difficult and contentious issues which require an immediate or innovative response.
  3. The scheme can provide support to work children and young people where there is a significant impact on the prevention of community conflict particularly during key times of community tension.
  4. The scheme is primarily aimed at locally based groups such as community development groups, cultural organisations, women's groups, church groups, tenants associations and other organisations and groups involved in  community relations, reconciliation projects and cultural engagement.
